AAK

For a number of years, AAK in Aarhus had experienced challenges with their hoses in the filter department not being able to withstand the working pressure and that the replacement time was too long when the production equipment needed servicing. Another challenge was that the area was only accessed once a year. This meant that action had to be taken quickly and efficiently.

"We contacted Alfotech and shared our challenges to see if they had a specialized hose for vegetable oil in a hexane environment that could meet our technical specifications and was easier to replace. Previously, it took two men a whole day to replace the hoses, as the hoses had to be cut with an angle grinder. This had to be made easier!", says Steen Fammé from AAK.

Alfotech took up the challenge and in collaboration with AAK, a new special hose was developed with FDA approval on the inside in accordance with 1935/2004.

After some successful tests, Alfotech returned shortly after with a hose that met the requirements and had a lifespan of over a year.

Today, it's easy for one man to replace the hoses, ensuring the durability of the hose and making the process more efficient. Safety is also significantly improved as the use of cutting tools has been eliminated. The choice of the right hose was therefore important and resulted in an optimized and more reliable production.  

"We are very pleased with the collaboration with Alfotech. They have managed to produce a hose that fits our production and we have not experienced any operational disruptions. The benefit is also that we save a lot of time on replacement and servicing," concludes Steen Fammé from AAK.
