Industrial cleaning in the process plant is routine for many of our customers and requires cleaning hoses that have what it takes. Foam Cleaner, ISAR Water and Thermoclean 100 Antimicrobial are often in play as the preferred choices. But which one typically comes out on top in Mission Cleanliness?
Of course, the final choice depends on the specific requirements of the customer, which can vary significantly depending on the production in question. In this context, temperature, pressure and hygiene are crucial factors.
We explore the best cleaning hoses available from our stock and take a closer look at their construction, features and benefits. That way you'll be better equipped for your next choice.
Read along and let's clear up any doubts!
Why the cleaning solution is important
Industrial cleaning in the process industry is crucial for both operational efficiency and safety.
Cleaning hoses play a central role in the total cleaning solution to remove dirt, impurities and contaminants from process equipment that is often in use around the clock, such as in dairies and breweries. But other accessories such as spray guns, nozzles/lances, swivels, quick couplings and hose reels are often a must.
With the right cleaning solution, you not only improve hygiene, but you also reduce the risk of product contamination, downtime and, ultimately, endangering consumers.
Behind the candidates: Specifications & benefits
Whatever your requirements for your next cleaning solution, our Foam Cleaner, ISAR Water and Thermoclean 100 Antimicrobial candidates cover a wide range of use cases in food production.
- Foam Cleaner: Our latest addition and the replacement for the previous Clean Wash hose. Made of PVC and suitable for low-pressure systems, especially for foam application. Withstands temperatures from -10°C to +70°C. It has a maximum working pressure of 80 bar and supports up to 40 bar at up to +70°C. Resistant to external oil/grease and very user-friendly.
- ISAR Water: Made of NBR rubber (NBR) and therefore extra flexible. Covers temperature ranges from -40°C to +100°C. With a maximum pressure of 20 bar, it's ideal for cleaning with hot water and detergents as well as transporting oil and grease-containing media. ISAR Water is also ozone and weather resistant, which extends its lifetime.
- Thermoclean 100 Antimicrobial: Made of PVC and designed for use at temperatures between -20°C and +90°C. With a maximum working pressure of 30 bar, it's suitable for hot water flushing and cleaning applications as well as the transportation of non-greasy media. Thermoclean 100 Antimicrobial is both thermally insulated to avoid scalding at high working temperatures and comes with a bactericidal exterior, making it ideal for highly hygienic production environments.
3 types of essential accessories to consider
For the complete process plant cleaning solution, consider these three additional accessories that increase cleaning efficiency and improve safety:
- Spray guns: If flush hoses are part of your setup, the high-quality spray gun is indispensable. With an infinitely adjustable jet, it contributes to optimal cleaning. Our AFT spray gun is one of the most popular all-round models, suitable for spraying and cleaning applications with or without detergents and covering a working pressure of up to 24 bar.
- Nozzles/lances: Nozzles or lances are ideal for low-pressure cleaning, as they atomize the water, ensuring a spread over a larger surface area. Our flushing and foam lances are made of stainless steel, cover up to +100°C in temperature and are suitable for low pressure foaming.
- Hose reels: The cleaning task is not only easier with a hose reel, but also significantly safer for workers. Several of our models come with automatic spring rewind, such as the popular AFT 1000-1100 AV, which works well with hoses for low pressure systems.
