Sampling valves: The safe choice for efficient fluid control in production

Sampling valves are essential components in the process industry. They ensure that operators can closely monitor the manufacturing process. Using these valves, it’s possible to determine taste, appearance, microbiological and chemical values - all while the process is still ongoing. Sampling valves ensure that product quality and hygiene are always top notch - making them ideal for use in the food industry in particular.

What is a sampling valve?

The sampling valve is an essential tool that enables fluid control through precise and hygienic sampling during production. With the liquid sample from a pressurized system, you can monitor the quality and safety of your product.

The sampling valve, which we can supply with or without rinsing connection, works by opening the valve itself and extracting a fluid sample through it. It's very simple and quick to do. The valve is of course designed to withstand high pressures and temperatures, making it suitable for many different types of applications.

Sampling valves with and without rinsing connection

Our sampling valves are designed with precision and hygiene in mind and come in two versions. Whether you choose our valve with or without rinsing connection, you're guaranteed a high-quality solution - one that stands up to the most demanding production conditions, minimizes downtime and optimizes operations.

Our sampling valves are recognized by EHEDG (European Hygienic Engineering & Design Group) and are available with a wide range of connection types such as weld end, pipe thread (BSP) and Clamp connection. The many possible combinations make them useful for several different purposes. The sampling valves come in stainless steel AISI 316L (1.4404) with an internal surface roughness of ≤ 0.8µ. This high steel quality ensures contamination-free sampling. The gasket, which is made of PTFE (Teflon), provides high chemical resistance, making the valve applicable in many other types of productions. The manual models have a lockable handwheel for extra security against unauthorized access.

When do you choose the sampling valve with rinsing connection?

Two sampling valves

Do you need regular valve cleaning without compromising on high hygiene standards? Then it's a good idea to choose our sampling valve with rinsing connection. This model is ideal for food production where hygiene is paramount, for example in dairies. The built-in flush function enables quick and easy cleaning of the valve without the liquid reaching the product. This minimizes the risk of contamination due to harmful bacteria while maintaining a safe production line.

Frequently asked questions

Man wondering

What connection types are available for sampling valves?

Sampling valves are available with different connection types: weld end, pipe thread (BSP) and Clamp connection. A weld end connection is ideal for permanent installations where a strong and secure seal is required. Pipe thread (BSP) creates flexibility for easy assembly and disassembly, making it suitable for systems that require regular maintenance. The Clamp connection is known for easy and quick installation and is therefore recommended when quick access and frequent cleaning cycles are necessary.

Can sampling valves be used in food production?

Yes, sampling valves are suitable for food production as they meet strict hygiene requirements and ensure accurate sampling without risk of contamination. They’re recognized by EHEDG for their hygienic design.

What is the lifespan of sampling valves?

Our sampling valves are made of stainless steel AISI 316L and PTFE, materials known for their extreme durability. Additionally, the valves are designed to withstand demanding production conditions, so you can expect long-term performance regardless of production purpose.
